China: The Weiyun AI & Robotics Group, the company behind the award-winning AI Smile Intraoral Scanner, has released the AI SMILE Smart Tracking Case which is designed to improve orthodontic patient compliance.
Billed as the first intelligent hardware customized for invisible orthodontic users, it integrates the functions of treatment tracking, aligner-wearing reminder, cycle recording, locating, and data synchronizing.
AI power and connectivity to enhance orthodontic patient compliance
About the size of a hockey puck, the intelligent Smart Tracking Case is designed to connect with the company’s AI SMILE APP. In addition to enabling customers to track their orthodontic treatment progress, the device also reminds them to wear their aligners on time.
The AI SMILE Smart Tracking Case is designed to enhance patient compliance and healing experience while serving the daily lifestyle needs of the orthodontic patient, says Weiyun.
“This innovative design that breaks the stereotype means the case no longer only has the function of storing braces, but it’s an intelligent device that connects dentists and patients, creating a precedent for medical AI terminal, giving the inspiration of new AI practice to the global industry,” says the company’s press release.
“The successful launch of the AI SMILE Smart Tracking Case is expected to change the way and concept of therapeutic process management, bringing a brand new orthodontic experience to consumers around the world.”
International debut
The AI SMILE Tracking Case was recently released across Asia, North America, and Africa.
Independently developed by Weiyun’s R&D team, the AI SMILE Smart Tracking Case can be connected to the AI SMILE user APP and the doctor’s platform.
The Nanjing-based company says this helps to reduce the level of uncertainty associated with orthodontic patient compliance during the treatment process, which can lead to frequent revisions of the orthodontic treatment plan and even restarting it. Common issues include the misplacing or loss of aligner braces and the difficulty in maintaining and developing aligner-wearing habits.
Using the AI SMILE Smart Tracking Case together with the AI SMILE user APP, dentists can view the customized treatment plan and actual progress tracking for each patient in real time.
Meanwhile, the doctor can remind them to wear the braces on time to improve their compliance. In addition, the AI SMILE Smart Tracking Case has its own aligner-locating function that can effectively prevent the loss of the braces.
Serving as a smart terminal, the AI SMILE Smart Tracking Case can be linked to the cloud for case tracking and stage managing, assisting dentists in formulating more accurate follow-up treatment plans, thus optimising the orthodontic effects.
