AUO Expands Smart Healthcare Ecosystem

AUO Showcases Advancements at Healthcare+ Expo Taiwan 2024

TAIWAN: AUO has announced significant advancements in its smart healthcare initiatives, spotlighting new technologies at the 2024 Healthcare+ Expo Taiwan. With its core display technology at the foundation, AUO is leading efforts to integrate artificial intelligence and precision healthcare through its subsidiaries AUO Display Plus (ADP), AUO Health, and DentLabX, in collaboration with 15 strategic partners.

Shih-Hong Liao, General Manager of AUO’s Smart Healthcare Business Group, emphasized the company’s commitment to transforming medical services: “With digital innovation transforming medical services, AUO integrates core technologies and leverages its group resources to provide a wider array of solutions in smart healthcare.”

Cutting-Edge 3D Smart Surgical Imaging Platform

ADP introduced its “SurgiEyes – Robotic Surgery Real-time 3D Solution,” a sophisticated imaging platform designed to enhance surgical precision and team coordination. This technology streams real-time, high-resolution 3D images across devices within and beyond the operating room, enabling seamless communication and image sharing for remote consultations and robotic surgery.

In collaboration with Riverfield and UPro Medical, ADP demonstrated this platform with the Saroa Robotic Surgery System. The showcase included a simulated operating room and a remote connection with Japan, highlighting the platform’s ability to overcome spatial barriers. Surgeons also benefited from ADP’s “Naked-eye 3D Solution,” designed to reduce strain during complex procedures.

To complement this innovation, ADP partnered with Smart Surgery Technology to present AI-assisted tools that enhance minimally invasive surgeries. These tools assist in identifying critical structures and lesions, significantly improving surgical workflow and outcomes.

Comprehensive AI-Enabled Surgical Management Solutions

ADP’s focus extends beyond imaging to address pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative needs. With partners such as imedtac and JTBTech, the company showcased solutions including the “Smart Surgical Scheduling System” and “Surgical Instruments Security AI Solution.” These tools streamline surgical scheduling, improve safety checks, and enhance instrument management efficiency.

The integration of AI for real-time monitoring was also featured. Collaborations with ADLINK Technology and National Cheng Kung University introduced innovations like the “Respiratory Monitoring AI Solution” and AI-assisted diagnostic tools for conditions such as otitis media.

DentLabX Leads Digital Transformation in Dentistry

DentLabX, a subsidiary of ADP, unveiled its “Smart Dental Lab Management Suite,” addressing the growing demand for efficient denture production and management. The suite incorporates advanced digital tools for order management, production tracking, and quality control, reducing remakes and improving operational efficiency.

This system has already been implemented at Kaohsiung Medical University Chung-Ho Memorial Hospital and key dental labs. This year, an upgraded app version was introduced, enhancing communication between labs and dental practices.

AUO Health Innovates in Traditional Chinese Medicine

AUO Health showcased Taiwan’s first portable pulse detector, a device that integrates Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) diagnostic techniques with generative AI technology. Physicians praised the device’s accuracy and its ability to deliver personalized health insights, marking a milestone in integrating traditional practices with modern technology.

A Broader Vision for Smart Healthcare

AUO continues to leverage its display-centric technologies to redefine healthcare experiences. The company’s collaborative efforts aim to strengthen the precision and preventive medicine sectors, ensuring safer and more efficient medical services.
