Candid, an orthodontic products company, has recently announced the inclusion of support for eligible mixed dentition cases in its CandidPro™ clear aligner system.
This latest feature release follows the introduction of upgraded support for interproximal reduction and attachments earlier this year, as well as a collaboration with global healthcare company Philips Sonicare. The expansion of support for mixed dentition patients allows dental professionals to provide CandidPro’s renowned clear aligner treatment to a broader range of younger patients.
Focus on Airway Health
The addition of mixed dentition support is particularly beneficial for CandidPro doctors who focus on airway health. Many of these clinicians prescribe orthodontic treatments to younger patients with the aim of proactively addressing potential airway health issues, such as obstructive sleep apnea, later in life.
Clear aligner therapy is often prescribed alongside other airway-centric therapies to achieve optimal tooth alignment. According to a press release, CandidPro has gained recognition among airway doctors for its ability to tailor treatment plans to meet their specific needs.
Dr Brittany Johansen of Alpine Airway Wellness expresses her enthusiasm for CandidPro’s inclusion of mixed dentition support, stating, “I absolutely love that CandidPro helps me set up my younger patients for success by offering mixed dentition support. They are constantly innovating and applying feedback. It is great to work with such a receptive company.”
Prioritising Clincal Needs
Dr Julienne Sabet of Developmental Dentistry also shared her experience, saying, “I love having a clear aligner partner that prioritizes my clinical needs. I also had the opportunity to help the CandidPro team pilot their mixed dentition features, which was incredible. I’m so proud to have been a part of it.”
With the introduction of support for mixed dentition cases, the company aims to provide enhanced treatment options and maintaining its momentum in the coming years.
Dr Brian Gray, Candid’s Chief Dental Officer, expressed his pride in the launch of the mixed dentition support and hinted at more updates to come. “I’m proud to see our mixed dentition support go live today, and I’m excited to share more updates to CandidPro soon,” he stated.
