Delhi University Extends Postgraduate Admission Deadline

Extended Deadline Provides Relief for Aspiring Postgraduate Students

Delhi University has announced an extension for the admission deadline for various postgraduate programs, including BTech, BA LLB, and BBA LLB, for the 2024-2025 academic year. The deadline has now been set to August 31, 2024, offering additional time for prospective students to complete their application process.

Admissions Based on Common University Entrance Test (CUET)

All admissions to postgraduate programs at the University of Delhi (UoD) and the Non-Collegiate Women Education Board (NCWEB) will be strictly determined by the scores obtained in the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) for Postgraduates (PG) – 2024. This year, UoD has emphasized that “a gap year will not be a barrier to admission,” ensuring that students who have taken time off between their studies are still eligible to apply.

Specific Criteria for LLB Programme

For those interested in pursuing an LLB, it is essential to meet the program-specific eligibility criteria and take the corresponding CUET paper. The detailed syllabus for this examination is available on the official website, pgcuet.samarth.ac.in. Candidates are advised to verify that they meet all eligibility requirements before applying, as admission will solely depend on their CUET (PG) – 2024 scores.

Mandatory Documentation for Reserved Categories

Candidates from reserved categories, including SC/ST/OBC-NCL/EWS/PwBD/CW, must upload valid certificates or documents during the application process through UoD’s CSAS (PG) – 2024 portal. It is crucial that the names on these certificates match those on the candidates’ school board qualifying certificates and in CUET (PG) – 2024 records. The same applies to the names of the candidates’ parents on all relevant documents.

No Age Restrictions for Postgraduate Admissions

According to Ordinance – I of Delhi University, there is no minimum age requirement for admission to postgraduate programs, except where regulatory bodies like the Medical Council of India (MCI), All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE), Bar Council of India (BCI), National Council of Teacher Education (NCTE), and Dental Council of India (DCI) have imposed age limits.

Minimum Eligibility Requirements

For admissions, candidates from the UR/OBC-NCL/EWS categories are required to have at least 50% marks or an equivalent grade in their qualifying examination. For SC/ST/PwBD candidates, the minimum requirement is set at 45% marks or an equivalent grade.

This extension by Delhi University provides a much-needed opportunity for students to finalize their applications, ensuring that they have the chance to join the university’s prestigious postgraduate programs for the upcoming academic year.
