Dental Resource Asia Establishes Editorial Advisory Board, Chaired by Prof Lakshman “Sam” Samanarayake

Singapore: Dental Resource Asia (DRA) (https://dentalresourceasia.com/), an online platform focused on promoting Asian dentistry, is excited to announce the formation of an Editorial Advisory Board (EAB) for its DRA Journal, chaired by Professor Emeritus Lakshman “Sam” Samaranayake of the University of Hong Kong.

The role of the EAB is to provide guidance and support to the DRA editorial team in terms of editorial scope, objectives and direction for the soon-to-be-launched DRA Journal.

The EAB is chaired by Prof Lakshman “Sam” Samanarayake, a renowned clinical academic with expertise in clinical microbiology, research, and executive level administration, and includes prominent experts in the fields of paediatric dentistry, endodontics, and minimum invasive & restorative dentistry.

He has published over 450 papers, including seminal texts, that have been cited over 32,500 times. He is also the current Editor-in-Chief of the International Dental Journal, the flagship publication of the FDI World Dental Federation.

Prof Samaranayake has served as the Executive Dean of two major dental schools in Hong Kong and Australia at the Universities of Hong Kong and Queensland, respectively. He is a highly sought-after speaker and has addressed professional bodies in around 40 countries.

For his contribution to dental sciences, Prof Samaranayake has received numerous accolades, including the coveted King James IV Professorship of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and the Distinguished Scientist Award of the International Association for Dental Research.

Prof Yiu is the Course Director of MID MOOC, Clinical Professor & Associate Dean (Clinical Affairs) at the Paediatric Dentistry & Orthodontics division of the Faculty of Dentistry, The University of Hong Kong.

Prof Cheung is the Associate Dean of the Faculty at The University of Hong Kong; and Supervisor of Training for the Specialty Board in Endodontics at the College of Dental Surgeons of Hong Kong.

Prof Ngo is the Dean and Head of the Dental School, and Director of the Oral Health Centre of WA, University of Western Australia.

Dr Tan is the Discipline Director, Discipline of Endodontics, Operative Dentistry and Prosthodontics; Assistant Dean, Education, Clinical Phase, Deanery; Senior Lecturer, at the Faculty of Dentistry, National University of Singapore, National University Centre for Oral Health Singapore.

Prof Jayasinghe is the Chair Professor of Oral Medicine and Periodontology and Specialist in OMF Surgery at the Department of Oral Medicine & Periodontology, Faculty of Dental Sciences, University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka.

Prof Pornchai Jansisyanont is the Dean, Faculty of Dentistry, Chulalongkorn University, Thailand; and Diplomate at the American Board of Oral-Maxillofacial Surgery.

Hiroshi Egusa is the Director, Liaison Center for Innovative Dentistry; Director, Center for Advanced Stem Cell and Regenerative Research; Professor and Chair, Division of Molecular and Regenerative Prosthodontics at the Tohoku University Graduate School of Dentistry, Japan; and General Vice-Director (Head of Dental Division) at the Tohoku University Hospital, Japan.

The DRA Journal is currently inviting online article submissions for its launch issue in May. The submission deadline for that issue falls on 5 April 2023. Articles submitted after the deadline will be considered for subsequent issues of the magazine.
