Dental Start-Up Smiles.ai Rebrands as Dezy

India: Smiles.ai, a dental health solutions start-up, has undergone a rebranding and is now known as Dezy. The company has set ambitious goals for expansion, with plans to launch 300 clinics and achieve an annualised revenue of Rs 300 crore by the fiscal year 2025.

The decision to rebrand reflects Dezy’s commitment to providing top-notch dental health services through the utilization of technology. The company aims to differentiate itself in a market saturated with dental clinics that often use the keyword “smile” in their names.

Transition to Dezy: A Natural Progression

Prasantha Vadan, founding partner of Brand and Growth at Dezy, expressed the rationale behind the rebranding. He explained, “To differentiate our brand from others, we decided to adopt the name Dezy. Although we came up with many options, we couldn’t convince ourselves of any other name than Dezy. The transition from Smiles.ai to Dezy wasn’t difficult for us – it was the next natural progression for our venture. In addition, we continue to cater to our Smiles.ai client base as well.”

This shift from Smiles.ai to Dezy signifies the company’s evolution as a modern and innovative dental care provider. The new brand name aims to move away from the fear and misinformation often associated with dental care, instilling confidence and trust in the brand.

Successful Funding Round Fuels Growth and Technological Advancements

In 2022, Dezy secured $23 million in Series A funding led by Alpha Wave Incubation. Notable investment firms such as Sequoia Capital India, Chiratae Ventures, MBX Capital, and Wami Capital also participated in the funding round. With this significant investment, Dezy focused on expanding its presence across the nation, strengthening its leadership team, and developing technology-driven dental solutions.

Dezy highlights its substantial growth, claiming to have grown fivefold from 2019 to 2022. The company has successfully expanded its aligner and clinic business in multiple cities, positioning itself as a prominent player in the dental care sector.

The rebranding of Smiles.ai to Dezy reflects the company’s commitment to innovation and providing quality dental health services. With ambitious expansion plans and strong investor backing, Dezy aims to make a mark in the dental industry by embracing technology and fostering trust among its clientele.
