Dentis Acquires Site for New Factory Expansion

Korea: Dentis, a dental implant manufacturer, has secured a 14,761 square meter site in Daegu Innovation City for the expansion of a new factory. The site is located near the company’s medical device division in Dong-gu, Daegu Metropolitan City.

Expanding Implant Processing Facilities

The new factory, which will be Dentis’ third, is being built with the aim of expanding the processing and post-processing facilities for implants. By 2022, the company’s initial facility produced 2.7 million implants, and the expansion is anticipated to more than triple that number to 10 million sets annually.

Dentis showed a growth trend in the third quarter of 2022, with cumulative sales of about KRW 54.49 billion (USD 4.46 million), exceeding the total sales in 2021 of KRW 48.96 billion (USD 4.01 million). With the increasing demand for various products, including expanding overseas sales networks, the company plans to preemptively expand its production capacity.

“We plan to have a mass production system that takes into consideration existing business groups such as transparent aligners, LED surgical lights, and dental unit chairs, as well as new operating room solutions, in addition to implants, by reorganizing existing factories, starting with the new factory.” said an official from Dentis.

“Demand from the global market. As the number is expected to increase, we will focus on increasing the corporate value of Dentis through stable product supply and smooth market response.”

Construction and Operation

The new factory’s development is anticipated to start after a detailed construction plan has been finalized, with an operational target date of the first quarter of next year. The manufacturing line at the current facility will also be rearranged to make place for the mass production of unit chairs and new orders for products for operation rooms.
