Dentist Attacked and Eyes Pierced at Cebu City Clinic

The Philippines: A shocking incident occurred on Queens Road in Barangay Camputhaw, Cebu City, where a registered dentist, Dr Charles Sia, was brutally attacked at his clinic on Wednesday afternoon. Two unidentified men, dressed in black and green jackets with white or blue pants, entered the clinic and launched a violent assault on Dr Sia.

Assault and Eye Piercing

According to Police Captain Mark Don Leanza, the chief of Abellana Police Station 2, the assailants posed as delivery riders to gain entry to the clinic. Dr Sia’s secretary initially encountered them, as they claimed to have a delivery for the doctor. However, the situation quickly turned violent as the men directly hit Dr Sia with an unknown weapon.

The attack was of such severity that it caused Dr Sia to lose consciousness. After the assault, the assailants reportedly pierced both of the dentist’s eyes before making their escape. During the incident, one of the suspects uttered chilling words, stating, “You owe me so much,” as revealed during an interview with the victim conducted by Leanza.

Investigation Underway

The police at Abellana Police Station 2 are actively investigating the incident and trying to identify the perpetrators. Witnesses have provided statements to assist in solving the crime. The suspects fled on a motorcycle, just 10 minutes after the attack.

Authorities are currently seeking to determine the motive behind the heinous act. While there is no CCTV camera inside the clinic, investigators are examining external CCTV footage for any leads. Additionally, the victim’s cell phone may hold crucial information for the ongoing investigation.

A Close Call

Remarkably, despite the viciousness of the attack, Dr Sia’s life was spared, and it appears that there was no intention to kill him during the assault.

Police Colonel Ireneo Dalogdog, City Director at the Cebu City Police Office, has ordered a thorough focus on the incident. The Regional Intelligence Division at the Police Regional Office-7 is providing additional assistance in the investigation.

As the investigation continues, the dental community and local residents await answers about this shocking and brutal attack on a respected member of the medical profession.
