Dentsply Sirona launches Primescan Connect

Dentsply Sirona unveiled the Primescan Connect, a laptop-based version of the Primescan intraoral scanner.

The product was launched at the DS World 2022 event held in Las Vegas. The Dentsply Sirona World 2022 is a platform to showcase new products, treatment workflows and solutions as part of its digital universe.

Part of DS Core ecosystem

Providing an easy starting point in digital dentistry, Primescan Connect is powered by the cloud-based platform DS Core and features Dentsply Sirona’s reliable service program, DS Core Care.

DS Core provides practitioners secure storage and sharing of data. Developed in collaboration with Google Cloud, the tool launched in March 2022 supports HIPAA/GDPR compliance. Allowing users to access their patient records anytime and anywhere, DS Core maintains the openness, flexibility and ease of use of the most common methods of the digital dental practice’s collaboration.

By connecting the digital dental hardware and software through a single platform, DS Core is designed to improve efficiency and effectiveness in dental practices. New DS Core features such as the Primescan Connect Support were also announced during the event.

Foster collaboration with dental lab

According to the company’s press release, Primescan Connect offers validated workflows to all major lab software to help foster the dentist’s collaboration with any lab, while maintaining the dental practice’s work habits.

“With our innovations for digital impression, we are adding valuable components to our digital universe. Digital impression is more than just a digital alternative for analog impression,” said Cord Staehler, CTO at Dentsply Sirona.

“We can now offer a comprehensive digital workflow for treatment, patient monitoring, diagnostics and communication with patients and labs. Therefore, our new solutions for digital dentistry are a real game changer.”

Primescan Connect can be used for digital workflows including: Restorative indications, implantology, orthodontics and sleep appliances.

Accessible across multiple devices

Also unveiled is the Primeprint Solution, an automated, end-to-end, medical-grade 3D printing system for dental applications.
