Singapore: The Dental Specialists Accreditation Board (DSAB) has appointed the College of Dental Surgeons, Singapore (CDSS) to form a Joint Committee for Dental Specialist Accreditation (JCDSA). The JCDSA’s role is to appoint and oversee the functions of the Dental Specialist Accreditation Committees (DSAC) for the respective specialties.
Requirements and Process
All dentists who wish to register as specialists with the Singapore Dental Council (SDC) are required to fulfill the requirements as outlined on the DSAB website. The accreditation process will have two stages:
The first stage involves the submission of an application form, along with assessment material such as log books and case reports as specified for the various specialties. The submission must be accompanied by a signed declaration form attesting that all cases included in the log book and case reports are patients managed by the applicant and that all records are authentic.
The second stage is an exit interview, which will be conducted in accordance with the stipulations under each specialty.
Dates and Venue
The deadline for online submission of the specialist accreditation application is 7th July 2023, and the appointments for submission of assessment material will take place from 10th to 14th July 2023. The date for the exit interview is 11th to 15th September 2023.
For the second round of accreditation, the deadline for online submission is 5th January 2024, and the appointments for submission of assessment material will take place from 8th to 12th January 2024, with the exit interview scheduled for 18th to 22nd March 2024.
The exact date and time of the exit interview for each eligible candidate will be allocated after the deadline for the submission of application material. The venue for the exit interview is the Academy of Medicine, Singapore located at 81 Kim Keat Road #11-00 NKF Centre, Singapore 328836.
