Powered by Medit, the fastscan.io Scanning Solution is uniquely tailored for dentists to send their cases to Glidewell’s dental lab.
The scanner is said to combine the scanning technology of the Medit i700 with a seamless connection to both the glidewell.io In-Office Solution and Glidewell’s dental lab.
According to a press release from Glidewell, this three-way integration offers an advanced scanning solution at an affordable price point. The fastscan.io is said to deliver the speed, accuracy and light weight attributes of the Medit i700.
In addition, the solution makes it easy for dentists to submit cases to Glidewell. In so doing, they stand to save $20 or more per unit on restorations, or they may choose to utilize the solution’s open system design to send cases to another lab of choice. Dentists can also upload digital impressions directly to the glidewell.io In-Office Solution, thus allowing for the fabrication of same-day BruxZir restorations in the comfort of their own dentist office.
Other shared features with the Medit i700 include: Reversible tips; a detachable cable; and a built-in UV-C LED disinfection light to reduce the risk of contamination.
Scanner users can also access a suite of Medit software and apps, including: Ortho Simulation, Model Builder and Crown Fit. All of the programs are preinstalled and are said to be compatible for use with other CAD/CAM providers.
