Henry Schein Unveils Mammoth Distribution Center in Texas

Henry Schein, a global leader in healthcare solutions for dental and medical practitioners, has marked a significant milestone in its operational history. The company has officially opened its largest distribution center to date, a colossal 811,000-square-foot facility located in Fort Worth, Texas.

New Chapter in Supply Chain History

The new Southwestern Distribution Center, situated in the AllianceTexas development, represents a substantial upgrade from the company’s previous 242,000-square-foot facility in Grapevine, Texas. This expansion aligns with Henry Schein’s commitment to innovation and customer service, as emphasized by Chairman and CEO Stanley Bergman:

“Our new Southwestern Distribution Center is a testament to Team Schein’s dedication to innovation, reliability and customer service… We are pleased to begin this new chapter of our supply chain history in the Fort Worth community.”

Workforce Transition and Growth

The transition to the new facility has been smooth, with over 95% of the team from the Grapevine location relocating to Fort Worth. The new center now provides a workspace for 255 “Team Schein” members, showcasing the company’s commitment to its workforce during this expansion.

Adapting to Market Demands

Henry Schein’s decision to invest in this larger facility comes as no surprise, given its position as the sixth-largest distributor on MDM’s Pharmaceuticals & Healthcare Top Distributors List. With sales reaching an impressive $12.3 billion in 2023, the company’s growth trajectory necessitated this significant upgrade in distribution capabilities.

History of Innovation

Bergman highlighted the company’s longstanding tradition of adapting to market needs:

“Over the course of our more than 90-year history, we have frequently reinvented the organization to meet customer needs, embracing new technologies and advancements.”

This new distribution center is a physical manifestation of that philosophy, blending the company’s enduring values with a focus on future growth and technological advancement.
