USA: Dr Jean Kathleen B. Cala, DDS, has been recognised as a Pinnacle Platinum Healthcare Professional for her exceptional contributions to the field of Dentistry, prominently featured in The Inner Circle.

Dr Cala’s journey in pursuit of higher education began at Odessa College, where she graduated Summa Cum Laude with three associate degrees. She then continued her academic endeavours at the University of Texas, Permian Basin, earning a Bachelor of Science in Biology in 2017. 

Her educational path led her to the Texas A&M College of Dentistry, where she achieved her Doctorate in Dental Surgery (DDS). During her time at dental school, she cultivated a passion for helping people achieve not only a healthier smile but also a healthier lifestyle.

Transition to West Texas

Originally from an agricultural province in the Philippines, Dr Cala completed her high school education at the Immaculate Conception Child Development Center. She initially pursued her dental studies at the University of the Philippines Manila College of Dentistry. However, in 2013, her family relocated to West Texas, specifically Pecos. 

The warm reception they received in West Texas left a lasting impression on Dr Cala. She made a personal commitment to return to West Texas after completing her dental education to serve the community.

Dr Cala joined the Dental Group of Lubbock in August 2022. She became a part of an all-female team of dentists, known for her calm and reassuring approach that resonates with her patients. Dr Cala has now established her own practice, Willow Dentistry. One of her particular strengths lies in helping patients with dental anxiety feel more relaxed and comfortable. She is deeply engaged with the community, actively mentoring children on the importance of good oral health.

Life Beyond Dentistry

Beyond her professional commitments, Dr Cala enjoys various hobbies, including gardening and crafting miniatures like dollhouses. She is actively involved in RISE V, a volunteer community program dedicated to assisting the community in various ways.
