Kettenbach Dental Launches VSXE One for Precision Impressions

Kettenbach Dental has announced the launch of VSXE One, an elastomer precision impression material tailored for monophase impressions, particularly for implants. VSXE One stands out with its explicit focus on fixation impressions and its precisely customized product properties for this specific application.

Monophase Impressions

Precision impressions encompass various techniques, including the monophase impression approach, which involves a single-phase procedure. Fixation impressions hold significant importance in transferring implant posts or primary crowns when preparing implant restorations. The successful outcome of this process relies heavily on the impression material’s ability to faithfully replicate the oral situation in the laboratory.

To ensure reliable fixation of transfer elements during an implant impression, the impression material must exhibit close conformity around the posts, optimal envelopment, and, upon curing, firmly secure the posts in position without any movement, thereby achieving a high material density. Maintaining the precise three-dimensional arrangement of the posts is crucial in cases involving multiple implants, as it directly influences the successful placement of the final restoration.

Aiming to address these requirements, the newly developed VSXE One combines elastomer precision impression material with vinyl polysiloxane and polyether, resulting in a unique Vinylsiloxanether formulation.

Shorter Setting Time

The formulation of VSXE One is said to ensure excellent flow characteristics, enabling the material to adapt well to tissue, even in the presence of moisture. Furthermore, after the curing process, the material reportedly attains a high Shore A hardness of 65, providing reliable fixation of the posts in their initial positions.

The intelligent combination of vinyl polysiloxane and polyether fractions in VSXE One results in a longer working time coupled with a shorter intraoral setting time. This feature minimizes the risk of deformations during the setting phase, enhancing both clinical efficiency and patient comfort, says a press release.

Integration into Practice Workflow

According to Kettenbach Dental, the VSXE One is designed to seamlessly integrate into the dental practice workflow. It is available in automix 5:1 jumbo cartridges, for easier handling and precise dosage.

Impressions made with VSXE One can reportedly be stored indefinitely, allowing for multiple casts to be poured from the same impression. Moreover, the material’s easy removal from the mouth or model is said to not only increases patient comfort but also safeguards against unintended extractions.
