Ori Dental Introduces New Ori Intraoral Scanner

Ori Dental has recently announced the release of its new Ori Intraoral Scanner, a device that strives to deliver a more efficient and effective scanning process for dental professionals. According to Ori Dental, the scanner, designed to be both portable and affordable, boasts a range of features that make it stand out from other similar tools in the market.

Features and Benefits of the Ori Intraoral Scanner

The Ori Intraoral Scanner guarantees higher accuracy, says the manufacturer, with the ability to differentiate between soft and hard tissue. The device is also made from aerospace-grade aluminum, which reportedly makes it highly durable and long-lasting. Additionally, the scanner has an open software system that allows dental professionals to send their scans to the lab of their choice.

One of the standout features of the Ori Intraoral Scanner is its speedy scanning process. The device can reportedly complete a quadrant scan in just 25 seconds and a full arch scan in 60 seconds, making it one of the fastest tools in the market. Moreover, the scanner has no operating fee, eliminating the need for costly monthly service fees.

The Ori Intraoral Scanner was created by clinicians and labs who were looking to replace old solutions and temporary fixes while working with patients in the Dominican Republic. The foundation of the scanner, and mission behind it, is to focus on a portable, affordable intraoral scanner for service dentistry.

Specs and Technical Details

The Ori Intraoral Scanner weighs 144g and has a length of 22.86 cm. It is one of the smallest scanners on the market, allowing for comfortable single-handed use, which dramatically reduces arm, hand, and finger fatigue. The device’s handle is made from the highest quality aerospace-grade aluminum, making it lightweight yet highly durable.

The scanner utilizes artificial intelligence, which recognizes the occlusal relationship of the upper and lower scan, making bite registrations automatic and seamless. Additionally, the software provides periodic and intuitive quality control steps, such as scan density heat maps, ensuring the most accurate scan possible.

According to the company’s site, Ori’s software sends 3D data from high-quality true color HD video, which produces realistic images that are easily manipulated to inspect all aspects of the scan. The software also recognizes unnecessary soft tissue scan data and automatically removes these artifacts as the scan progresses. Even if adjustments are made to the crown preparation, the fine adjustments update automatically when that surface is scanned again.
