Osstem introduces Osstem K5 dental chair

Korea-based dental implant company Osstem introduced the Osstem K5 dental unit, the successor to the Osstem K3 dental chair.

The K5 dental unit received the GD Presidential Award for Best Product Design presented by the country’s Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy.

With nine upholstery colours to choose from, the K5 dental unit is designed to accentuate the interiors of the modern dentist’s office, said the company.

The Osstem K3 dental unit has been the country’s top-selling dental chair for 6 years in a row between 2015 – 2020. The newly updated K5 continues the company’s focus on the three main aspects of chair design and innovation – distinct design, convenient usability and easy management.

Optimum operator position for easy body movements

Continuing from the K3 dental unit’s chair ergonomics, compact size and modular form factor, the Osstem K5 is also created with the operator’s optimum treatment position and ease of body movements in mind. For example the slim backrest minimises interference with the operator’s knee.

The angle-adjustable HP cradle also protects the user’s hand by minimising interference with the delivery unit and dental instruments.

With adjustable height control and smooth table movement, the K5 chair allows optimised positioning for both clinicians and assistants.

The doctor’s stool supports the lower back and reduces pressure on the thighs during treatment, minimizing the operator’s fatigue.

The knee-controlled (free-wheeling function) dual-joint headrest allows different angles that make it ideal for treating children and elderly patients.

Ease of maintenance is also another advantage for Osstem dental units, said the company. The Osstem K5 provides a clean treatment environment with a cord-free wireless foot, and an optional sterilization water supply device that can be selected to effectively manage bacteria in the water pipe and always provide clean water treatment.

Osstem K5 ergonomics for patient comfort

In terms of patient comfort, the seat tilting function maintains a stable patient treatment position when the backrest reclines. The ergonomic design extends to the seat, said to firmly support the patient’s back even for long treatment duration.

The K5 dental unit can be customised to your practice needs and operator preference – upholstery colours, dental light and accessories (including dental stool and foot controller) are available as optional extras.
