India: Saveetha Institute of Medical and Technical Sciences has made history by becoming the first and only dental institution in India to be ranked within the top 15 in the subject of Dentistry in the QS World Ranking by Subject 2023.
The ranking is published annually by Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) and assesses universities on publication metrics such as H index, cite score, academic perception, and employer perception.
Saveetha Dental College secured a full 100 points in H index and 100 points in cite score, making it the best in the world for research statistics.
The Top 3 Spots went to: University of Michigan-Ann Arbor (United States), Academic Centre for Dentistry Amsterdam (ACTA) (Amsterdam, Netherlands) and The University of Hong Kong (P.R. China).
Ranking Boost
Saveetha had obtained the 18th rank in the QS World University Rankings by Subject in 2022. However, the institute’s investment in state-of-the-art infrastructure, research facilities, and international collaborations has contributed to its success in the QS World Ranking.
Saveetha Institute of Medical and Technical Sciences is a UGC-approved Deemed University and a NAAC A++ grade accredited institution. It spans over 180+ acres with 70 lakh square feet built area, housing 13 institutions, 5,000 staff, and catering to 10,000 students.

Commenting on the achievement, Dr NM Veeraiyan, Chancellor of Saveetha Institute, expressed his pride in the institution’s students and faculty, stating that this global ranking would inspire every Indian institution to strive for excellence in their field.
