SprintRay Introduces the High Impact Denture Base into their Digital Denture Workflow

SprintRay, a global provider of digital dentistry and 3D printing solutions, has announced the attainment of US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) 510(k) clearance for their latest product, the High Impact Denture Base

This denture material is infused with ceramics and is designed for 3D fabrication and repair of full and partial removable dentures and baseplates. According to SprintRay, the ceramic-infused resins aim to revolutionize digital dentistry and offer a seamless in-office fabrication process for removable dentures.

Growing Demand for Dentures

As the global demand for dentures continues to rise, the emergence of digitally produced dentures has provided a faster and more convenient in-office production method. However, the limitations of first-generation 3D resins in terms of performance, strength, and durability have hindered their widespread adoption.

SprintRay aims to overcome these challenges by introducing a complete digital solution combined with their High Performance resins, which reportedly offer enhanced strength, durability, and speed.

In the words of SprintRay CEO and Co-Founder Amir Mansouri, Ph.D., “SprintRay was founded on the promise of developing carefully curated 3D printing solutions with market-leading performance, and our high impact denture ecosystem is a key example of this commitment. We wanted to ensure that dental professionals wouldn’t have to compromise on strength, longevity, or durability for in-office speed and efficiency. We sought to develop a solution that delivered on all fronts.”

Developed with SprintRay’s NanoFusion

SprintRay’s High Impact Base is being marketed as the world’s first ceramic-infused 3D printing material for dentures, catering to the need for a robust and durable denture material. The High Impact Base and Teeth resins are formulated with SprintRay’s proprietary approach called NanoFusion™, which utilizes a novel ceramic composition and dense polymer chains.

These materials developed with NanoFusion are said to exhibit superior strength, longevity, and durability compared to competitor materials. The infusion of ceramics in the High Impact Denture Base and Teeth enhances fracture resistance and wear resistance, surpassing the performance of 3D printing and milled materials, says the manufacturer.

Comprehensive Scan-to-Print Solution

SprintRay’s digital denture workflow aims to address critical issues commonly encountered in 3D printing processes, providing a comprehensive scan-to-print solution that includes design services. Partnering with leading dental scanner manufacturers, patient data scans can be effortlessly transferred to SprintRay Cloud Design. According to a press release, the design turnaround time is 48-72 hours, drastically reducing the time required compared to traditional denture workflows.

Additionally, the launch of the High Impact resin enables SprintRay to provide on-demand custom denture design services starting at $75 per arch, eliminating the need for dental computer-aided design (CAD) software. The Cloud Design platform offers three options for full arch complete denture designs, allowing dentists to provide customized choices that meet the unique aesthetic and financial needs of each patient.
