Taiwan’s dental start-ups showcase innovative technology at IDS 2023

Taiwan: dentall (台灣牙e通) and Preteeth AI (德睿生醫) showcased their innovative AI technology at the International Dental Show (IDS 2023) held in Cologne, Germany, from March 14th to 18th.

dentall and Preteeth jointly exhibited at the event, bringing together dental experts and cutting-edge technology for dental digital innovation.

Cloud-based Practice Management System

At the exhibition, dentall presented their latest cloud-based clinic management system, dentallHiS.

dentallHiS is designed to optimize clinical operations effortlessly using smart digital tools. This system offers a range of features to assist with the management of patient appointments, billing, and inventory management. With over 1500 clinic e-Commerce registers and 8000 dental professional e-Commerce registers, dentallHiS is a popular choice among dental professionals.

dentall owns the largest online dental store in Taiwan, offering over 1000 dental products. Their online store selects dental products ranging from consumables and hand instruments to restoratives and aesthetics. Partnering with 1500 dental clinics, dentall’s online store accounts for a quarter of the Taiwan market. Additionally, dentall collaborates with a recycled materials company to transform their packaging method, reducing CO2 emissions and waste generation.

AI-Powered Smile Analysis

Preteeth AI offers an AI-powered software that allows for a comprehensive assessment of a person’s smile, analyzing features such as the facial midline, gingival line, and overall aesthetic.

One of the key features of the company’s AI smile analysis is the ability to assess the facial midline. This vertical line that divides the face into left and right halves serves as a reference point to examine the symmetry of features, including the teeth, eyes, nose, and mouth.

By analyzing the midline, Preteeth AI can provide a comprehensive assessment of a person’s smile, providing insights into potential areas for improvement.

Preteeth AI’s aesthetic treatment simulation technology allows patients to understand the likely outcome of their treatment and make informed decisions about their smile goals. The simulation includes options such as crown lengthening, veneer or crown application, and tooth bleaching.

IDS Video Highlights

The IDS exhibition attracted an estimated 160,000 international visitors, with an expanded exhibition space of 180,000 square meters, equivalent to 25 football fields. dentall and Preteeth were among the 42 Taiwanese dental companies exhibiting at IDS.

The dentall team shared a video (presented in the Chinese language) showcasing the highlights of the exhibition (see video).

Video highlights include Dentsply Sirona’s Primescan IDS, a flagship product that digitises dental impressions and eliminates the need for traditional plaster models; as well as the Swiss-based Straumann Group unveiling their implant surgery simulation system. The system is said to provide a comprehensive and realistic visual training experience, reducing surgical errors.
