vhf Launches E3 Trimming Machine for Precision Trimming of Occlusal Appliances

vhf camfacture AG, a German dental technology company, has launched its new E3 Trimming Machine for cutting out thermoformed appliances such as aligners, splints, and other occlusal appliances. The E3 features vhf’s TRIMCAM software that recognizes the trimline on which the appliance will be milled out from the planning data, and it can reportedly produce an entire aligner series in a very short time with no significant preparation or reworking.

Consistent Quality

Lucas Kehl, Head of Product at vhf camfacture AG, emphasized the significance of the E3’s development: “The trimming of thermoformed splints is still strongly characterized by manual work. Nevertheless, orthodontists, but also increasingly dentists, expect a consistently high quality especially in this field. So, from the very beginning, it was our concern to enable process reliability and at the same time to optimize the use of resources in the practice environment.”

The E3 Trimming Machine is said to be compact enough to fit anywhere, weighing only 25 kg, and featuring CNC production. It also features a collection drawer for chips, eliminating the need for an external suction unit, and it is manufactured using high-quality components, enabling easier maintenance and enhanced durability.

vhf’s EASE CLASS

The E3 celebrated its world premiere at the International Dental Show (IDS) in Cologne on March 14, 2023, where it was showcased alongside vhf’s other new machines, the E5 and E4, as part of the EASE CLASS. The EASE CLASS is a powerful trio that covers virtually all materials and indications that may arise in the laboratory and dental practice.

The E3 Trimming Machine is expected to improve the efficiency and quality of the trimming process for occlusal appliances, providing a high level of precision while reducing the need for manual labor and reworking.
