NYU Dentistry Introduces Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene

USA: New York University College of Dentistry (NYU Dentistry) is launching a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Dental Hygiene with a concentration in Dental Science. This innovative program aims to serve as a stepping stone for individuals aspiring to pursue advanced degrees in dental school or other health-related professions.

Rigorous Curriculum and Career Preparation

The program’s curriculum, available in a downloadable PDF, is designed to be rigorous, encompassing science, math, and liberal arts courses essential for health-related professions. The emphasis on a robust educational foundation ensures that students are well-prepared for the practice of dental hygiene. By working collaboratively with other oral health professionals during the program, students gain valuable insights and experiences that can shape their post-baccalaureate professional goals.

Upon graduation, students emerge with practical skills, positioning them as “practice-ready” dental hygienists. The Bachelor of Science degree not only opens doors to opportunities within private practice but also expands employment prospects in teaching, research, public health, and the corporate sector.
