Planmeca Announces Range of New Innovations at IDS 2023

Planmeca, a Finnish dental equipment manufacturer, has launched a series of new dental products at the International Dental Show (IDS) 2023 in Cologne, Germany. The new range includes dental units, imaging devices, software solutions and CAD/CAM products, all designed to optimize daily work and patient care.

Planmeca Pro50 Dental Care Unit

The Planmeca Pro50™ dental care unit is a standout product, offering exceptional ergonomics, adaptability and intelligent features. 

“Since all dental unit users are different, Planmeca Pro50 has been designed to offer its users a new level of flexibility and the freedom to create the dental unit of their dreams without compromise,” said Jukka Kanerva, Vice President of Planmeca’s Dental Care Units & CAD/CAM division.

Planmeca Viso G3 imaging unit

The Planmeca Viso® G3 imaging unit is another new product. This multifunctional CBCT device offers top-of-the-line imaging of the entire dentition in both 2D and 3D, making it an ideal solution for all extraoral imaging needs. 

The new imaging unit also comes with a new user interface that is intuitive and adaptable, and will be available not only to new customers but also to existing Planmeca Viso users.

Planmeca Romexis Software Platform

Planmeca has updated its Planmeca Romexis® software platform, introducing a range of new features and improvements. These include a new AI-based segmentation tool for CBCT images, which allows for more accurate and efficient analysis. 

In addition, the platform now includes a new Planmeca Romexis Ortho Simulator software module, which enables orthodontic simulations to be created. Existing software modules have also been improved, such as Planmeca Romexis CMF Surgery.

Other New Launches

Other new products include the Planmeca Imprex™ mobile scanning station for Planmeca Emerald® S intraoral scanners, and the Planmeca PlanMill® 35 chairside milling unit, which allows for both wet and dry processing capabilities.

The Planmeca x BWT Clean Water Systems product range is also being launched, a collaboration with one of Europe’s leading water technology company BWT, consisting of water treatment solutions for different clinic environments.

All of these new products will be showcased at IDS 2023 in Hall 1 at the Planmeca booth A20–C29 from 14 to 18 March 2023, alongside the complete product portfolio of Planmeca, including the Planmed XFI® weight-bearing full-body CT scanner.
