The Axano is the latest treatment unit from Dentsply Sirona which replaces the Teneo treatment center in the product family.

Featuring intuitive workflows and smart digital controls, the Axano is said to draw inspiration from the world of modern design and real-life feedback from its dental practice user base.

The Axano features an integrated ambient light that sets color accents and complements the lighting concept of each individual dental practice, while an indirect LED light illuminates the hygiene process.

The large graphic touch display is said to allow intuitive and convenient operation, patterned after the GUI of your smartphone. For example, the keys and functions can be organized using an drag-and-drop function for customization to personal preferences.

“The design looks pleasantly familiar, the digital workflows prove to be simple and practical,” said Dr Martin Weber, a specialist dentist for oral surgery from Darmstadt, Germany.

“The decisive factor for me is that I don’t have to adjust specifically to the treatment center; a lot of things are self-explanatory — that’s how it should be.”

A large selection of upholstery colors – in addition to optional choice of lounge upholstery – completes the award-winning modern design that recently bagged the Red Dot Award 2022 in the category for “Product Design”.

In the area of ergonomics and workflow efficiency, the Axano features a new motorized sliding track with integrated LED lighting.

The height adjustable LED lighting track allows for optimum ergonomic working positions that adapts to the dentist. Also within easy reach are the dentist and assistant elements – including the tray that can be positioned independently – providing the operator the flexible option od switching between team and stand-alone treatment.

With integrated endodontics and implantology functions, the Axano enables a smooth transition between diagnosis, clarification and therapy. The integrated camera and 22-inch Sivision monitor – along with intraoral images, 3D X-ray images or videos – are modern patient communication aids that promote treatment planning with your patient.

According to the company’s press release, the name Axano is inspired by the Greek word Afxano, which in English, means “to increase, grow, expand”.
