Carbon introduced its Automatic Operation (AO) suite of solutions at Lab Day Chicago on February 23, 2024. This suite, tailored specifically for dental labs, promises to redefine the landscape of lab automation, setting a new standard for efficiency and productivity.
Innovations Driving Efficiency
Phil DeSimone, CEO and Co-Founder of Carbon, emphasized the significance of this launch, stating, “These innovative solutions embody our ongoing mission to deliver technology that not only meets the current needs of labs but is built on the idea of continued innovation across the additive manufacturing industry.”
The suite comprises three key components aimed at streamlining various aspects of the dental lab workflow.
The first solutions introduced within the AO suite include:
- Automatic Print Preparation: This tool automates the end-to-end process of preparing model print projects, significantly reducing time and labor. It can be used independently or in conjunction with other products in the AO suite, showcasing Carbon’s commitment to comprehensive solutions.
- AO Backpack: A groundbreaking addition to Carbon printers, the AO Backpack automates the printing and part removal process, enabling overnight production for up to 14 hours. With a print turnover time of under 5 minutes, it matches the efficiency of human-staffed print turnover times seen on Carbon printers.
- AO Polishing Cassette: Utilizing advanced light scattering technology, Carbon’s polishing cassette enables automated surface smoothing, achieving glossy surfaces without manual polishing. This not only enhances the print quality of dental appliances but also reduces post-processing time after printing.
Carbon’s AO suite represents a significant advancement in dental lab technology, emphasizing efficiency, reliability, and scalability. Designed to seamlessly integrate into various lab environments, these solutions underscore Carbon’s commitment to innovation and customer-centricity.
