ZuluCarestream Dental has launched IO Scanner Link, a tool that enables dentists using digital workflows to connect CS Imaging version 8 software with third-party intraoral scanners’ acquisition software not developed by Carestream Dental. The new tool is more than a manual file import/export option, according to Carestream Dental, as it centralizes and displays all of a user’s Carestream Dental imaging data as the core practice platform to drive efficiency and connectivity.
According to a press release, an integrated button within CS Imaging 8 allows intraoral scans from supported third-party scanners, along with all the necessary patient data, to be launched easily. When the scan is complete, the intraoral scan is automatically imported back into CS Imaging 8 to be used for implant planning, surgical guide design, sharing with labs, or exporting to other third-party software.
More choice for practitioners
According to Philippe Maillet, the general manager of imaging equipment at Carestream Dental, IO Scanner Link gives practitioners the ability to connect their technology with a variety of partners or devices. This allows practitioners to use the intraoral scanner of their choice and gives them unrestricted access to their preferred clinical solutions, aiding them in optimizing their daily treatments through an efficient workflow.

Medit is the latest intraoral scanner manufacturer to integrate with CS Imaging 8 through IO Scanner Link. This will allow users of Carestream Dental imaging equipment and Medit intraoral scanners to integrate their favorite devices. Medit scanning solutions support both Windows and Mac computers.
Future integrations
CS Imaging 8 also connects with DEXIS intraoral scanners, and Carestream Dental plans to expand the number of integrations in the coming months to give practitioners even more choices.
CS Imaging 8 is widely used dental imaging software with a user-friendly interface. With the launch of IO Scanner Link, practitioners can reportedly benefit from seamless connectivity with their preferred intraoral scanners, enabling them to optimize their workflow and provide better patient care.
