Denstply Sirona Unveiling New Function on DS Core and Sustainability Initiative at IDS

Dentsply Sirona, a leading dental equipment manufacturer, is set to launch two new functions on its DS Core digital platform at IDS 2023. The new functions are designed to improve patient communication and ordering processes, and will be showcased at the event in Cologne, Germany. Additionally, Dentsply Sirona will launch a sustainability initiative to encourage dental professionals to switch from USB sticks to cloud solutions.

Brings Together Digital Files

The DS Core platform’s new communication canvas brings together all digital files, including x-rays and intraoral scans, onto one screen for easy consultation and treatment discussions between dentists and patients. Meanwhile, a new ordering and collaboration function will streamline communication between practices, partners and labs.

It is an open, cloud-based platform that seamlessly connects various Dentsply Sirona devices, including CEREC Primemill, Primescan, Primescan Connect, Primeprint, and even Axeos. Data generated from the platform is securely collected and stored in a database that can be accessed from anywhere and anytime while being GDPR and HIPAA compliant.

The functions aim to make dental practices and labs more sustainable by reducing the need for CDs, USB sticks and the manual transportation of models and impression trays.

Ordering and Collaboration

In addition to the communication canvas, Dentsply Sirona has also announced a new ordering and collaboration function for the DS Core platform. The unified portal will allow users to manage all cases, orders, files, and messages in one place, streamlining communication between practices, partners, and labs. Users can work with their favorite lab partner or search for new providers on the platform.

The new portal will also allow users to place orders with DS Core Create for ready-to-print indication designs. This will provide more convenience and flexibility for dental professionals, allowing them to focus on patient care.

“At IDS 2023, Dentsply Sirona is reinforcing its commitment to driving dentistry forward with disruptive solutions and digital services,” said Max Milz, group vice president, Digital Platforms & Solutions at Dentsply Sirona.

“With our commitment to innovation, dentists and dental technicians will experience a new level of digital support for their processes. They will be able to work with high efficiency, productivity and collaboration on what matters most: achieving excellent results for their patients. United for better dentistry—that’s how we all will succeed.”

Denstply Sirona’s Sustainability Initiative

Another highlight of the show, the “DS Talks” panel discussions, will focus on two topics that are rapidly shaping the dental industry and the world – Digitalization and Sustainability. Dentsply Sirona is committed to innovation and clinical education while keeping sustainability in mind.

Simon Campion, President and CEO of Dentsply Sirona, said, “We look forward to showcasing these commitments during IDS 2023 and invite all attendees to join us and unite for better dentistry to improve both oral health and the health of our planet.”

Dentsply Sirona will also launch a sustainability initiative to encourage dental professionals to switch from USB sticks to cloud solutions. Attendees who dispose of old USB sticks at the DS Core bubble at the Dentsply Sirona booth will help fund life-changing cleft surgeries for children in need around the world through a donation to Smile Train, Inc.

According to Dr. Verena Freier, a dentist in private practice from Bad Soden, Germany, “It’s the many little things, especially in case documentation, that cost time. It’s great that we can become much more efficient at this point with Dentsply Sirona.”

Dentsply Sirona’s exhibition space at IDS 2023 will feature live demonstrations of different workflows, including all 3D printing indications that can be implemented with Primeprint Solution. About 50 experts from practices and laboratories will be available to demonstrate the new solutions and discuss their benefits.
