Sherry Priami, based in Florida, has carved out a unique niche for herself as both a dental hygienist and an IFBB Pro (International Federation of Bodybuilding and Fitness Professionals) in women’s bodybuilding. Her journey in competitive bodybuilding began in 2018 when she earned her Pro Card, initially competing in the Women’s Physique Division before transitioning to women’s bodybuilding.

Impressive Achievements in the Sport

Priami’s bodybuilding career has been marked by notable successes. In 2024, she secured first place at the IFBB Chicago Pro in the women’s bodybuilding category, followed by a fourth-place finish at the IFBB Rising Phoenix Pro. Her performance at the prestigious Ms Olympia in 2023, where she placed fourth, further solidified her standing in the sport.

Balancing Act: Career, Family, and Bodybuilding

One of the most remarkable aspects of Priami’s story is her ability to balance her professional life as a dental hygienist with her bodybuilding career and family responsibilities. As a mother of three, Priami has developed strategies to manage her time effectively.

In an interview with the Hardcore Female Bodybuilders Podcast, Priami shared insights into her balancing act:

“I go to the gym across the street from the office I work at during lunch and that’s when I get my cardio.”

She also described her earlier routine:

“I used to get up in the mornings when they were younger and go train before they got up in the morning, so I could be home by breakfast and get them off and get myself off to work.”

Priami emphasized the importance of adaptability, concluding, “You just have to learn how to balance.”

The Journey from Dental Chair to Bodybuilding Stage

Priami’s transition from the dental field to competitive bodybuilding showcases the diverse paths that dental professionals can take.
