Dental Resource Asia (DRA) Team Expands with New Members on Editorial Advisory Board

Dental Resource Asia (DRA), a leading platform for dental professionals and educators, is pleased to announce the addition of three distinguished members to its Editorial Advisory Board (EAB). The role of the EAB is to provide guidance and support to the DRA editorial team in terms of editorial scope, objectives and direction for the soon-to-be-launched DRA Journal.

The newly appointed members of the EAB are esteemed experts in their respective fields, and their valuable contributions will further enhance the quality and depth of information available on the DRA platform.

New members of the DRA Advisory Board

Prof Ming-Lun Hsu, a renowned Prosthodontic Dentist and expert in Implantology, Geriatric Dentistry, and Temporomandibular Joint Disorders, joins the Editorial Advisory Board as a distinguished member. Prof Hsu brings a wealth of experience and expertise, having served as the Dean of the College of Dentistry at National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University in Taiwan. He is also the founding President of the Association for Dental Education, Asia Pacific (ADEAP), and has held various leadership positions in dental education organizations.

Another esteemed member is Prof Sunil Muddaiah, an accomplished professional in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopaedics. Prof Muddaiah is the Professor and Chair of the Department of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopaedics at the Coorg Institute of Dental Sciences in India. He is recognised for his research and innovation in dentistry, as well as his commitment to supporting vulnerable communities through his NGO, Anuraadh. Prof Muddaiah’s vast experience and dedication to dental education make him a valuable addition to the board.

Prof Young Guk Park, a world-renowned researcher in Orthodontics and Craniofacial Biology, completes the trio of esteemed new board members. Prof Park is the Professor Emeritus at Kyung Hee University School of Dentistry in Seoul, Korea. With his expertise in lingual orthodontics, accelerated tooth movement, and signal transduction of osteoblast differentiation, Prof Park has made significant contributions to the field. His international experience as a visiting professor at esteemed institutions such as Harvard School of Dental Medicine and Osaka Dental University further enriches the board’s knowledge base.

The Editorial Advisory Board‘s responsibilities encompass a wide range of functions, including advising on the editorial scope, providing feedback on previously published content, identifying timely topics, recommending authors, and reviewing article submissions. Additionally, the members will contribute their own expertise through editorials, case studies, and commentary pieces, further enhancing the platform’s educational resources.

Prof Lakshman “Sam” Samanarayake is a renowned clinical academic with expertise in clinical microbiology, research, and executive level administration. He has published over 450 papers, including seminal texts, that have been cited over 32,500 times. He is also the current Editor-in-Chief of the International Dental Journal, the flagship publication of the FDI World Dental Federation.

Prof Samaranayake has served as the Executive Dean of two major dental schools in Hong Kong and Australia at the Universities of Hong Kong and Queensland, respectively. He is a highly sought-after speaker and has addressed professional bodies in around 40 countries.

Highly respected professionals in their fields, the existing members of the EAB include: Prof Cynthia Yiu Kar Yung (Paediatric Dentistry); Prof Gary Cheung Shun Pan (Endodontics); Prof Hien Ngo (Minimum Invasive & Restorative Dentistry); Dr Tan Hee Hon (Prosthodontics & Orofacial Pain); Prof Pornchai Jansisyanont (Oral And Maxillofacial Surgery)Prof Ruwan Duminda Jayasinghe (Oral Medicine and Radiology); and Prof Hiroshi Egusa (Molecular and Regenerative Prosthodontics).
