Dentsply Sirona has announced that users of its DS Core platform can now upload historical imaging data from the Sidexis 4 X-ray software, enabling a comprehensive overview of patients’ records. This integration will enhance holistic patient consultations by providing access to a centralized patient media library.
DS Core, an open cloud-based platform, allows users to integrate various Dentsply Sirona equipment, storing the generated data centrally in a database for seamless access across different workflows. With the latest update, dental professionals can now import historical imaging data alongside new media files, creating a comprehensive repository of patient information.
Streamlined Data Integration
The new uploader for historical data is accessible through the equipment menu in DS Core. Users can upload patient data selectively or in bulk, depending on their requirements. For Sidexis version 4.3.1 and newer, data can be uploaded patient by patient, while Sidexis version 4.4 allows users to upload data for the past one, three, and five years, or the entire history.
Max Milz, group vice president of connected technology solutions at Dentsply Sirona, emphasized the significance of this update, stating, “By integrating historical imaging data, we offer our DS Core customers a comprehensive patient overview. This total view of the patients’ data can reveal valuable insights for treatment planning in collaboration with specialist colleagues or lab partners. DS Core serves as a catalyst for holistic patient care, empowering dentists so they can advance with confidence.”
Enhanced Communication Canvas
In addition to the historical data integration, Dentsply Sirona has also introduced updates to the Communication Canvas feature in DS Core. The Communication Canvas now retains the individually set-up arrangement of media and existing annotations from previous sessions, allowing dental professionals to seamlessly continue their preparation for patient consultations.
Furthermore, the annotation tool has been expanded, enabling freehand and text comments on 3D X-ray images, in addition to 2D images. This feature will facilitate effective patient communication by highlighting relevant findings during consultations.
As quoted by Dentsply Sirona, “The annotation tool has been extended. Freehand and text comments can now also be added to 3D X-ray images, not just 2D images. Relevant findings can be highlighted during consultation and used for effective patient communication.”
With these updates, Dentsply Sirona aims to provide dental professionals with a comprehensive and streamlined platform for patient record management, consultation preparation, and effective communication, ultimately enhancing the quality of patient care.
