US: “Bid For Smiles,” an online auction organized by America’s ToothFairy, has successfully raised US$26,000 to provide dental care resources and services to underprivileged children across the United States. The recent auction, held in March 2023, garnered support from Dentsply Sirona, a major sponsor whose contribution helped make the event a success.
The money raised from this event will be going towards prevention resources and services for 5,000 children who might not have otherwise received the necessary dental care to maintain their oral health.
Role of Sponsors in Bid for Smiles
Jill Malmgren, the executive director of America’s ToothFairy, emphasized the crucial role played by sponsors and donors in the success of the auction. She stated, “We count on the generosity of our sponsors and donors in order to make our auction a success. ‘Bid For Smiles’ would not have been as successful without the support of its major sponsor, Dentsply Sirona.”
“We believe every child should have access to the dental care they need to be healthy. We’re proud to partner with America’s ToothFairy to help children in communities that lack adequate dental services get the preventive care they need to grow up with a healthy smile,” added Lisa Yankie, Chief Human Resources Officer and Communications at Dentsply Sirona.
Working Towards Sustainability
Dentsply Sirona‘s support of America’s ToothFairy aligns with its sustainability strategy, BEYOND, which emphasizes improving oral health worldwide, protecting the environment, being a responsible corporate citizen, and fostering diversity and inclusivity within the workplace and society. The company has set ambitious sustainability goals and strives to effect real changes for a more sustainable future in dentistry.
Looking ahead, America’s ToothFairy has announced that the next “Bid For Smiles” online auction will take place from March 20-22, 2024. This event will provide another opportunity for individuals and organizations to contribute and help underprivileged children gain access to vital dental services.
