Product: DWX-53DC Dry Dental Mill

Roland DGA’s DGSHAPE Americas business group has launched the DWX-53DC dry dental mill.

Representing what the company calls the “next generation of DWX Series milling solutions”, the 5-axis milling machine boasts automated functions for an efficient uninterrupted 24-hour production. They include an automatic 6-Disc changer with 50 per cent faster exchange as well as a 15-station automatic tool changer.

Faster PMMA roughing

The DWX-53DC features a newly designed spindle that is said to deliver three times the tool-gripping power than other models – providing more speed and predictability milling PMMA applications.

In addition, it features the new 4 mm tool, and a built-in web camera. The 4mm tool is said to allow 30 per cent faster roughing of PMMA than 3mm tools. The built-in web camera works with the VPanel and DGSHAPE Cloud software to provide on-site and remote monitoring.

The DWX-53DC comes with a dedicated extraction unit and built-in ionizer to facilitate cleaner milling and easy maintenance.

Robust and compact

Constructed with a robust frame in a compact body, the DWX-53DC is designed for labs with limited space that require a structurally stable and precise milling unit. The unit is driven by a ball-screw system with 5-axis positioning for simultaneous operation.

Other features and benefits include:

  • Automatic machine calibration
  • Automatic air pressure control
  • User-replaceable spindle
  • Integration with Microsoft Surface Pro (optional add-on)
  • Optical barcode reader with up to 100 ID patterns
