The Pacific Dental Conference (PDC) 2022 Conference and Tradeshow was originally planned for an in-person meeting at the Vancouver Convention Centre, Canada from 10 – 12 March, 2022. The PDC Organizing Group has decided to “transition the conference to a virtual format for 2022”.

Targeting the entire dental team, the PDC Virtual will offer dental education with a selection pre-recorded and on-demand sessions made available on the virtual event platform Pheedloop. From March 14 – April 12, 2022, participants will have the opportunity to earn 30+ CE hours, network with industry peers and check out exhibitor profiles.

“In the interest of ensuring we can have a safe and meaningful PDC experience for 2022, the PDC Organizing Group (PDCOG) has taken the decision, as they did in 2021, to transition our conference to a virtual format once again for 2022,” reads the notice on their website.

“While we had been in constant contact with Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) and our venue partners and have been assured we could still hold an in-person conference under the current restrictions, we could not see doing so at this time given the evolving and dynamic conditions around the spread of Omicron within our community and the impact it is having and will continue to have in the coming weeks.”

The COVID-19 situation in British Columbia, the Canadian state where the conference was supposed to be held, has been experiencing rapid spread of Omicron. The authorities there are expecting an increase in hospitalizations. Canada’s CDC had placed advisory on travel from US to Canada. This and the heightened restrictions in Ontario, has affecters speakers, exhibitors, and many potential participants.
