exocad Launches xSNAP for Printable Articulators

exocad, a subsidiary of Align Technology, and a leading provider of dental CAD/CAM software, has announced the launch of its latest product, the xSNAP add-on module for DentalCAD 3.1 Rijeka. This new product allows users to simulate physiological mandibular movements in 3D-printed dental models.

xSNAP Module for DentalCAD 3.1 Rijeka

The xSNAP module is designed to make the simulation of dynamic jaw movements easier and more cost-effective. The xSNAP attachments come equipped with integrated articular paths and condylar path inclinations of 15, 25, 35, and 45 degrees.

Additionally, users have the option to choose between a flat incisal plate and an incisal plate with a 30-degree inclination. The xSNAP Module is available as a library for exocad’s Model Creator module in DentalCAD 3.1 Rijeka.

“We’re happy to offer an even more cost-effective and accelerated workflow for dental models to further empower our customers,” said Novica Savic, CCO and general manager at exocad.

Benefits of xSNAP

The xSNAP Module has several benefits over traditional articulators, including:

The co-printed component eliminates the need to subsequently articulate acrylic models. Joint guidance is dynamically adjustable for each printer and personal preferences. No additional support structures are necessary because of the adaptive support of the xSNAP attachment.

Users can check natural jaw motions quickly and easily with the use of the xSNAP Module. The spherical head of the 3D-articulated system enables precise protrusion and laterotrusion in addition to opening and closing motions.

Additionally, it has two optional incisal tables and four distinct articulator inclinations that enable articulation movement without requiring manual articulation of the printed models. The product has also received positive feedback from dental professionals.

“I evaluate complex cases with models. Now, we save time and have the accuracy and flexibility of both printed models and articulation in one item with xSNAP.” said Dr Gulshan Murgai, a UK dentist and lab owner.

The xSNAP add-on module is available from exocad’s resellers or webshop as a library for the Model Creator module in DentalCAD 3.1 Rijeka.
