Henry Schein One Introduces Dentrix Ascend API Exchange to Foster Dental Software Innovation

Henry Schein One, a joint venture between Henry Schein Inc. and Internet Brands, has announced the introduction of the Dentrix Ascend Application Programming Interface (API) Exchange. This platform serves as an information marketplace, enabling software vendors to share their expertise with numerous dental practices on the Dentrix Ascend SOC-2 security-certified cloud-based system.

Through the Exchange, participating vendors can provide Dentrix Ascend customers with valuable information, including app descriptions and links to websites, bolstering the dental community’s access to cutting-edge solutions, says a press release.

Open Architecture

Henry Schein One introduces Dentrix Ascend API Exchange as part of its commitment to open architecture. The Exchange is open to all software vendors who adhere to approved security and safety standards. Joining the Exchange is made accessible through an online application process.

By becoming a part of the program, vendors gain access to Henry Schein One’s network, which reportedly comprises thousands of dental practices and patients. Additionally, participating vendors can utilize various resources, including marketing tools and tutorials, to enhance their offerings within the dental community.

Alan Rencher, Chief Technology Officer at Henry Schein One, expressed his enthusiasm for the Exchange, stating, “We are excited to take this next step as a leader in open architecture – allowing best-in-class partners access to our broad ecosystem, which contains the largest network of dentists and patients.”

Stimulating New innovations

The Dentrix Ascend API Exchange aims to stimulate new innovations within the dental profession by providing vendors with a simple self-service onboarding process. Once approved for the Exchange, vendors gain access to a powerful dental community, empowering them to drive advancements in dental software and solutions.

Already on board are VideaHealth and Bola AI, demonstrating the Exchange’s early appeal to reputable players in the dental software space. However, Henry Schein One encourages more software vendors to join and contribute their expertise to this transformative platform.

With the Dentrix Ascend API Exchange now in action, Henry Schein One anticipates that the dental community can look forward to a more collaborative and innovative ecosystem, where shared expertise and cutting-edge solutions will benefit practices and patients alike.
