India’s Military Dental Arm Celebrates Silver Jubilee

INDIA: The Army Dental Centre of Research & Referral (ADC R&R), the largest dental establishment of the Armed Forces, marked its silver jubilee with grand celebrations. 

Lieutenant General MK Katiyar, General Officer Commanding in Chief, Western Command, graced the occasion with his presence and unveiled a Special Postal Cover commemorating the milestone.

Specialized Training and Innovative Techniques

The ADC R&R stands out for its provision of post-graduate training in five specialties of dentistry, including oral and maxillofacial surgery, prosthodontics, periodontics, conservative dentistry, endodontics, orthodontics, and dentofacial orthopaedics.

Notably, the centre has pioneered the use of Nitrous Oxide-Oxygen minimal sedation for anxiolysis and analgesia during minor oral surgical and rehabilitative treatments, catering to all age groups within the Armed Forces.

Distinguished for its innovative practices, the ADC R&R employs intraoral scanners for the fabrication of computer-aided designing (CAD) and computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) prosthesis, a pioneering step in oral surgery techniques. 

The centre’s library, equipped with RFID technology, provides extensive digital access to journals and books, fostering a conducive environment for research and learning.
