The KSⅢ SOI Implant surface coating material from Osstem Implant promises shorter treatment period due to rapid blood clot formation and reinforced fatigue strength by 2.4 times.
According to Osstem Implant, the product is the first in the world to apply a coating material to the implant surface. The SOI coating material purportedly preserves the strong surface activation energy immediately after production, preventing the accumulation of carbon components in the air.
Integrating innovative implant technology, the KSⅢ SOI Implant has strong super-hydrophilicity and is characterized by increased initial osteogenesis due to rapid blood wetting.
“SOI has obtained product approval for the world’s first dental implant with a coating material,” says an Osstem spokesperson.
“This product has excellent technology, and the synergy of the super-hydrophobic surface through UV treatment in the manufacturing process and the special material coated on the surface greatly improves bone formation.”
According to the company, it is also considered an advantage to increase the initial bone formation ability through rapid and abundant blood clot formation.
The SOI surface has a 130-fold improvement in protein adhesion compared to the existing surface, so blood clots are formed much faster and more rapidly.
In addition, by optimizing the pH balance, the success rate of osseointegration can be greatly improved, and the healing period can be shortened by more than 35% compared to the existing surface.
SOI is also evaluated as an implant surface with the best osseointegration performance among existing surface technologies. Osstem won the Prime Minister’s Award at the Korea Technology Awards for this technology, and the blood clot formation effect was also introduced in the SCI journal ‘Coating’.
‘KSⅢ SOI Implant’ drew a lot of attention even before its launch by applying KS System, the next-generation system of Osstem, to the surface of this SOI.
This product maintains the advantages of Osstem’s TS System, one of the world’s leading implant systems, such as self-tapping ability, stable initial fixation, and optimal placement, while further enhancing prosthetic convenience and fatigue strength.
In particular, prosthetics can be performed with only one hand by applying the Abutment Holding System. In addition, the fatigue strength has been strengthened by 2.4 times, and good evaluations are continuing from clinicians who have used it.
“KSⅢ SOI Implant can be expected to have a high clinical success rate even with weak bone order due to rapid bone formation,” says an Osstem official, “and it is a product with high satisfaction for both operators and patients due to its excellent ease of use.”
