Mubadala invests in Korean dental firm Osstem Implant

UAE: Mubadala, in collaboration with MBK Partners and Unison Capital, has announced a significant investment in Osstem Implant, South Korea’s leading dental implant material manufacturer.

Osstem Implant holds the distinction of being the fourth largest dental implant material manufacturer globally, with a particular focus on the value segment. The company serves over 30 international markets and operates manufacturing facilities in Korea and the United States. Osstem offers a comprehensive range of dental solutions, including implants, dental materials, digital equipment, and related services.

Meeting the Growing Demand

The investment in Osstem Implant is a response to the increasing prevalence of dental disorders and the growing demand for cosmetic dentistry worldwide. Access to comprehensive dental solutions is crucial for improving public health, as noted by Camilla Macapili Languille, Head of Life Sciences at Mubadala Investment Company. 

She stated, “With the growing prevalence of dental disorders and demand for cosmetic dentistry across the globe, access to comprehensive dental solutions plays a vital role in improving public health. We are pleased to partner with MBK Partners and Unison Capital to support Osstem in scaling its best-in-class dental solutions in the high-growth value segment.”

Osstem Implant places a strong emphasis on simplifying dental treatments for both dentists and patients. Annually, the company provides training to over 110,000 dentists worldwide, contributing to the advancement of dental care globally.

Luca Molinari, Head of Asia, Direct Investments at Mubadala Investment Company, expressed confidence in the South Korean market and the quality of the equity partners and management team involved in this transaction.
