NuEyes Unveils NuLoupes Smart Glasses with AR and Stereopsis Imaging

NuEyes, a technology company that started out focused on enhancing the lives of visually impaired individuals, has announced the launch of NuLoupes, smart glasses that leverage augmented reality (AR) and stereopsis imaging to provide dental professionals with on-screen insights during treatment. The patent-pending camera system offers live 3D stereoscopic imaging with near-zero latency, according to NuEyes.

High-Resolution Variable Digital Magnification

The NuLoupes smart glasses come equipped with high-resolution variable digital magnification, allowing for continuous magnification from 1x – 10x. This feature provides dental professionals with detailed imagery of their working area that was not possible with traditional loupes, says NuEyes.

NuLoupes also offers augmented reality applications that help dental professionals take and dictate operative notes, recognize objects, live stream, and view patient data.

Developed in Cooperation with Dentists and Surgeons

The smart glasses were developed with input from both dentists and surgeons, ensuring that both utility and ergonomics were considered during the design process. The pivoting camera system is designed to reduce neck strain, while the software is an ideal collection of programs for the clinician.

Founder and CEO of NuEyes, Mark Greget, expressed his excitement for the launch of NuLoupes in a press release from the company. “It’s exciting to see a product that we have been working on for years finally come to market. I am extremely appreciative of all the engineers and doctors that made NuLoupes a reality,” Greget said.

“The complexities of a 3D camera system that outperform the human eye, fit into a small and ergonomic pair of AR smart glasses, will be another huge step forward for not only the medical industry but for how augmented reality is delivered.”

The NuLoupes smart glasses’ camera system uses dual 48 mega pixel cameras to deliver precision depth perception with sub-millimeter accuracy. NuEyes will also be hosting a variety of apps including dictation/operative notes, surgical and dental navigation, object recognition, and remote health in their augmented reality ecosystem.
