OrthoFX has announced the launch of Rescue and Bright Aligners to enhance its Aligner Therapies. The two polymer products are designed to eliminate breakdowns in orthodontic treatments.
Rescue Aligners
Working in conjunction with FXOnTrack – OrthoFX’s AI-driven remote monitoring solution – Rescue Aligners create a closed loop system for the proactive detection and elimination of aligner failure.
According to OrthoFX, most patients do not fulfill their prescribed timeline to wear their aligners 22 hours per day, resulting in derailed treatments. At present, the only way to mitigate the problem is through additional doctor visits and a treatment restart. However, this lengthy recovery process involves needless delays – estimated to be over 8 weeks – and multiple office visits.
Providing the required flexibility and consistent forces, Rescue Aligners are designed to correct up to one month of deviation from plan without any need for office visits. A dentist can trigger the production of a Rescue Aligner as soon as the FXOnTrack reports that a case is off-track, thereby shipping the product directly to the patient’s home.
Bright Aligners
According to OrthoFX, the Bright Aligner is designed to make teeth appear whiter and straighter from day one of wear.
Lower patient uptake of orthodontic aligners has often been blamed on how long it takes patients to see aesthetic straightening results. The Bright Aligners addresses the issue with the use of translucent polymers that provide a natural whitening effect on the teeth without the use of chemicals or whitening gels.
