Osstem releases CBCT T2 Plus in Korea

South Korea: Osstem Implant, a dental implant company based in South Korea, has launched its latest upgraded version of the Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) machine, the T2 Plus. The new product boasts an advanced feature set that enables higher resolution imaging compared to the T2 model.

Versatile Imaging

The T2 is a user-friendly imaging system that converts X-ray signals into digital signals to acquire 2D images and reconstruct them into 3D images, using Pano, Cephalo and CT technology for the diagnosis of anatomical structures of oral and maxillofacial areas.

One of the standout features of the T2 is its 3-in-1 system, which incorporates 3D, CT, Pano & Cephalo (Optional) imaging into one imaging system. This makes it a highly versatile tool that can be used for a range of diagnoses, including orthodontics, implant and impacted tooth analysis, full arch and sinus analysis, and TMJ imaging.

Faster Scanning, Reduced Artefacts

The T2 also boasts a multi-FOV capability, with available FOVs including 5×5, 8×9, 10×9, 12×9, 15×9 (standard) & 15×15 (stitching), making it suitable for a wide range of diagnoses. The stitching technology allows for 15×15 FOV, while the 5×5 FOV allows for precise imaging of the target region.

Another notable feature of the T2 Plus is its ability to provide ultra-high-quality images through the use of voxel technology.

Additionally, the time required to obtain an image has been reduced to 30 seconds, thanks to a faster 10-second scanning motion that minimises artefacts, and the maximum time required for image reconstruction has been reduced to 20 seconds. As a result, the machine can significantly reduce chair time for patients.

Low-Dose Radiation Technology

The T2 Plus implements low-dose radiation technology to address the growing concern over radiation exposure.

The machine can achieve ultra-low-dose imaging, which corresponds to only 14.6% of the recommended CT scan radiation dose set by the Ministry of Health and Welfare. Furthermore, the T2 Plus provides four different imaging protocols that allow clinicians to adjust radiation levels based on the patient’s condition.

The Ultra Low Dose protocol, in particular, uses minimal radiation levels comparable to that of a panoramic X-ray, making it safe for radiation-sensitive patients, such as children and pregnant women.

The T2 Plus CBCT machine by Osstem Implant offers a significant upgrade in resolution and radiation reduction technology. Its faster imaging capabilities and low-dose radiation protocols make it a valuable addition to dental clinics, providing high-quality imaging while ensuring patient safety.
