Aseptico Inc. has launched the Penguin II implant stability monitor, a Resonance Frequency Analysis (RFA) measurement instrument designed to help dentists monitor osseointegration of dental implants
Reference point for making quick decisions
The Penguin II measures RFA based on the Implant Stability Quotient (ISQ) scale. Ranging from 1 to 99, the ISQ scale correlates to the micro-mobility of the dental implant, which in turn depends on bone quality and osseointegration.
According to Aseptico, the ISQ scale provides a reference point to support the clinician’s decision of when to restore, whether at primary insertion or over time, depending on the unique circumstances of each case.
Through monitoring the osseointegration of dental implants, dentists are able to take a reliable measurement of dental implant stability at any stage of treatment.
New features
The Penguin II utilizes cost-effective MulTipegs, which are available for all major implant systems and are autoclavable for up to 20 uses. Its new flatter sides bring increased comfort, a surer grip, and better leverage when in the hand. An all-new LED display screen is more sleekly integrated into the design, increasing readability.
The Penguin II also features a new swappable battery pack—when the battery reaches the end of its life, it can be replaced in the office. The device comes with a free-standing vertical charging stand, allowing for easy placement and wireless charging of the device.
