Planmeca announced a streamlined workflow that integrates the Planmeca Emerald intraoral scanners and the Romexis software into SomnoMed’s sleep apnoea device manufacturing workflow.

This makes it easy to order SomnoDent oral devices directly from the Planmeca Romexis software. SomnoMed is the manufacturer of the SomnoDent brand oral appliances for sleep apnoea treatment.

The integrated workflow includes the following steps:

• Scan a patient’s upper and lower teeth. Place the SomGauge instrument in the patient’s mouth when scanning the bite. The instrument is used to construct bite records.
• Complete the digital SomnoMed Order Sheet then import it into the Romexis software.
• Send the order sheet and patient’s intraoral scans (scanned in the SomGauge bite position) to the local SomnoMed laboratory via the Planmeca Romexis Cloud service.

Headquartered in Sydney, SomnoMed is an Australian company that develops and manufactures medical devices for the treatment of Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA).
