Planmeca has unveiled the Planmeca PlanMill 60 S, a 5-axis milling unit for dental laboratories. According to a Planmeca press statement, the machine can grind discs, blocks, and prefabricated implant abutments and may be used for wet or dry processing.
Processes variety of materials
A variety of materials, such as zirconium dioxide, glass ceramics, composites, PMMA, and wax, can be processed using the Planmeca PlanMill 60 S. The device has a clamping holder for quick material changes as well as a half-open blank holder for anterior restorations.
Works with the Planmeca PlanCAM software
It combines with the Planmeca PlanCAM software to give dental labs a full milling operation, says Planmeca. For dental laboratories and offices, this new milling unit will be a useful tool, according to Jukka Kanerva, Senior Vice President at Planmeca.
“Planmeca PlanMill 60 S is a powerful milling unit for the varying needs of dental laboratories, technicians, and in-house laboratories,” said Kanerva.
“The platform-based design of Planmeca PlanMill 60 S allows introducing new functionalities to the milling unit also in the future with software updates and interchangeable clamping fixtures.”
