Planmeca Unveils Planmeca Viso G3 Imaging System at IDS 2023

Planmeca, a dental equipment manufacturer, has announced the launch of its latest imaging system, the Planmeca Viso G3. This new system is part of the company’s Viso family of CBCT (Cone Beam Computed Tomography) units and is designed to provide dental practitioners with advanced 3D imaging technology.

3D Images of Entire Dentition

The multifunctional CBCT device was unveiled at IDS 2023 in Cologne, Germany, earlier this month. With a field of view ranging from 3 x 3 to 20 x 10 cm, the Planmeca Viso G3 is reportedly able to provide high-quality 3D images of the entire dentition, as well as detailed panoramic and extraoral bitewing images for interproximal diagnostics. It can also be equipped with the Planmeca ProCeph one-shot cephalostat and upgraded to Planmeca Viso G5 for a larger maximum 3D volume.

According to Planmeca, the imaging system is designed to offer easy usability and visibility for various clinical needs, including endodontic treatments and implant planning. It also comes with all the benefits of Planmeca’s Viso technology, including easy-to-use imaging programs, a live video view for patient positioning and virtual FOV adjustments, freely adjustable 3D volume size and anatomical target selection, as well as Planmeca Ultra Low Dose imaging.

Making Planmeca’s Viso Technology Available for All

The imaging system also features a new user interface, modelled after the modern look and feel of the Planmeca Romexis dental software. The intuitive and adaptable user interface will be made available to existing Planmeca Viso users as well.

According to Timo Müller, vice president of Planmeca’s x-ray division, “With Planmeca Viso G3, we wanted to make Planmeca’s premium Viso technology available to everyone. Now, with the Planmeca Viso family complete, we have a dedicated unit for every imaging need.”

As with all Planmeca Viso units, Planmeca Viso G3 has been designed with the ALADA principle in mind to ensure that images are captured with the lowest possible patient doses while maintaining diagnostically acceptable image quality. The unit can also be enhanced with Planmeca CALM movement artifact correction, which can be applied either before exposure or after the scan is complete.
