Carestream Dental’s Sensei Cloud has introduced three new features including Soft Tissue Chart, Lightbar, and customizable questionnaires. Sensei Cloud is the company’s Software-as-a-Service (SaaS).
Soft Tissue Charting is designed to help dental professionals with oral cancer screenings. It helps dentists record their findings with detailed notes and condition labels on an anatomical chart.
“As oral cancer screening becomes increasingly important and the related documentation becomes ‘standard of care,’ keeping track of these findings in a patient’s clinical record can help increase early detection,” says the company’s press release.
The new Lightbar feature is designed to enhance patient flow by managing their smooth movement throughout a dental appointment.
The Seated Queue flyout bar shows a streamlined view of patient activity: Appointment type; seating time; time and chair of scheduled appointment; and provider names for the appointment.
To keep the appointment on schedule, the Seated Queue function lets the staff team direct the dentist to the right patient. Without the need to leave the patient, the team member can notify the clinician, letting him/her know when an operatory is ready for them.
The Sensei Cloud now provides Customizable Questionnaires, digital forms that give practice staff a rundown of any data documentation. Using prompts, controls and stock answers, the questionnaires allow the patient’s medical history to be recorded as a questionnaire – not only a simple way to avoid repetitive data entry, but also makes reviewing the data a breeze.
As part of the larger Sensei platform, Carestream Dental introduced the Sinsei Cloud in late 2020. Other cloud-based Sensei products include Sensei Scheduler Views, Patient Manager and Patient Forms.
“Dentistry is changing rapidly, partly due to needs created by the pandemic and partly due to the pace at which technology is advancing,” says Helmut Domagalski, senior director of product management, global DPMS, Carestream Dental.
“Fortunately, a SaaS like Sensei Cloud means we can continuously roll out updates in response to new research, trends and patient demands.”
With continuous updates, the Sensei platform leverages Carestream Dental’s other on-premise and hosted software — OrthoTrac, PracticWorks, SoftDent and WinOMS — bringing it ever closer to cloud functionality. Click here for more information on Carestream Dental’s Sinsei Cloud.
