Roland DGA Corp. appoints new president

Amado Lara has been named the new president of Roland DGA Corporation, a supplier of wide-format inkjet printers, cutters, dental milling machines, and other cutting-edge digital image equipment.

Former president and CEO of Roland DGA, Andrew Oransky, will remain in the role of CEO while also sitting on the board of directors and offering guidance.

Oransky elected to board of directors

According to Oransky, who has been Roland DGA’s president since 2016 and president and CEO since 2019, the need for a new president became apparent when he was elected to Roland DG’s board of directors in March 2022.

“My appointment to the Roland DG board requires me to assume responsibility for overall sales and marketing within the global Roland DG organization, with a focus on crafting strategies and making decisions that will help the entire Roland DG global enterprise grow,” said Oransky.

Rising through the ranks

Lara, a seasoned sign and graphics professional with more than 30 years of experience, joined Roland DGA in 1992 and has held a number of managerial and leadership positions, most recently as Vice President of Sales. As Roland DGA’s president, he will now lead a flourishing business that just experienced a record-breaking year in sales in 2022.

“I am thrilled and honoured to have the opportunity to serve as president of this truly incredible company,” Lara said. “I hope to build upon the tremendous work that Andrew has done as president over the last six years and help lead Roland DGA to the next level.”

About Roland DGA

Founded in 1990, the Roland DGA Corporation specialises in manufacturing products with a focus on XYZ axes, or lateral, longitudinal, and vertical movement, using digital technologies.

Roland DGA Corporation serves as the North and South American marketing, sales, distribution and service arm for Roland DG Corporation and its subsidiary, DGSHAPE. Roland DG is a Japan-based provider of wide-format inkjet printers, engravers, photo impact printers and CNC milling machines. DGSHAPE Americas is the Roland DGA dental business group, with a focus on the design and manufacture of dental milling machines.

Their product range has since grown to include cutting plotters, which swap out the pen for a cutter and were initially applied to the creation of pen plotters for designing and drafting applications. The XY axis control technology served as the foundation for both of these product lines.

Eventually, the Roland DG output device line-up expanded to include colour printers with inkjet heads and cutters as well as 3D milling machines with XY and Z axis control.
