Seoul National University Dental Hospital and Heart-Heart Foundation Collaborate for Low-Income Disabled Dental Support

Korea: Seoul National University Dental Hospital and the Heart-Heart Foundation have joined forces to implement the “Low-Income Disabled Dental Treatment Support Project.” The partnership was formalized through a business agreement signed on the 27th.

The primary objective of the agreement is to foster mutual cooperation between the two institutions and ensure the effective operation of the project. 

Comprehensive Anesthesia Treatment

The “Low-Income Disabled Dental Treatment Support Project” aims to provide comprehensive anesthesia dental treatment to low-income disabled individuals below the age of 19. Funding for the project is derived from the profits generated by the Starbucks branch located at Seoul National University Dental Hospital. According to the companies, this initiative is part of a broader commitment to social value realization, employment promotion for people with disabilities, and increased awareness of disabilities.

Chairman Ji-Cheol Oh of the Heart-Heart Foundation expressed his delight at the collaboration, stating, “I am extremely pleased to be able to support the best dental treatment for low-income disabled individuals through cooperation with Seoul National University Dental Hospital, which is undoubtedly the best facility with top-class medical professionals in the country.”

The project operates as follows: The Heart-Heart Foundation selects and recommends disabled children and adolescents who require dental surgery. Seoul National University Dental Hospital then provides initial consultations to the selected individuals and carries out the necessary dental treatment for the final recipients, utilizing the allocated funds.

Basic Rights for Individuals with Disabilities 

Director Yong-Moo Lee of Seoul National University Dental Hospital emphasized the responsibility they bear, saying, “Through today’s agreement, we are able to provide medical support for the promotion of health and the guarantee of basic rights for people with disabilities. We will continue to do our best to fulfill our role as a reliable partner for the oral health of the citizens through collaboration with various related organizations.”

This collaboration between Seoul National University Dental Hospital and the Heart-Heart Foundation hopes to improve access to essential dental care and advance the well-being of low-income disabled individuals. By combining their expertise and resources, they aim to make a positive impact on the lives of those in need and contribute to the broader goal of promoting equal healthcare opportunities.
