Solmetex announces acquisition of Sterisil

Solmetex, a producer of amalgam separators, has taken steps to expand its focus on developing clean water, safety, and waste recycling solutions for the dental sector. The company signed an agreement to acquire Sterisil, which specializes in dental unit water line infection control products.

The acquisition will leverage on the combined industry experience of over 50 years in dental water treatment and safety management. The combined experience, Solmetex said, will drive “more effective compliance with water treatment requirements for both individual dental practices and Dental Service Organizations (DSO)” and improve the ecological aspects of patient care in the dental field.

“This is an incredibly exciting time for Solmetex and I am confident that adding Sterisil to our platform will ensure growth and expansion opportunities as we continue to deliver excellent customer service and high-quality, reliable products,” said Gene Dorff, CEO, Solmetex.

Solmetex provides waste management services to remove mercury from the waste stream and other dental waste solutions.

Sterisil offers a range of dental water line antimicrobial products to maintain dental unit waterline effluent below or equal to 10 CFU/ml HPC purity – through the use of silver-based antimicrobial treatment.
