Swiss Dental Start-Up Odne Raises US$5.5M in Series A1 Funding

Swiss dental start-up Odne has successfully closed its Series A1 financing round, securing SFr4.8m (US$5.5m) to bolster its forthcoming entry into the US market.

Funding Round Details

The A1 round was led by independent venture fund Revere Partner and NV Capital, a family-owned venture capital boutique. Noteworthy participation also came from several funds, including Dental Innovation Alliance (DIA), Plug&Play, Hatcher, and Züricher Kantonalbank, alongside various family offices and angel investors, all committed to facilitating Odne’s penetration into the US market.

Dr. Andreas Schmocker, CEO and co-founder of Odne, highlighted the significance of the US market, stating, “With over 15 million root canal treatments per year, the US is the biggest market worldwide and our number one focus.”

He stated, “At the annual meeting…we will introduce the Odne RPT workflow solution to the endodontic community,” underscoring the company’s strategic approach to market engagement.

Investor Perspectives

Dr. Jeremy Krell, managing partner at Revere Partners, emphasized the alignment between Odne’s innovations and Revere Partners’ investment focus on oral health.

Odne’s new technology platform for root preservation therapy (RPT) is poised to revolutionize the field of endodontics. The RPT workflow introduces three innovative medical devices, facilitating minimally invasive root canal cleaning and light-cured obturation. This technology not only reduces reliance on bleach but also enhances the speed and efficacy of endodontic therapy.

Patient-Centric Approach

The RPT technology developed by Odne prioritizes patient safety and comfort while preserving tooth structures for improved long-term treatment outcomes. This approach underscores the company’s commitment to advancing dental care through innovative and patient-centric solutions.

Previously known as Lumendo, Odne received investment from Dental Innovation Alliance (DIA) in January 2024, signaling early confidence in the company’s potential to reshape the landscape of endodontic care.
