The Greater New York Dental Meeting (GNYDM), the one of the top dental conferences in the United States, has named Tom Loughran as its new general manager.

The GNYDM, which attracts thousands of dental professionals from around the world, is known for offering a wide range of educational opportunities and an extensive exhibit floor featuring the latest in dental technology and equipment.

Following a thorough selection process by the executive boards of the Second District Dental Society and Next York County Dental Society, Tom Loughran has been chosen to serve as the new general manager of the Greater New York Dental Meeting (GNYDM).

Loughran has been working in the trade show sector for 23 years. He started out as a sales executive at Reed Exhibitions in 1999 and worked his way up to positions like sales manager and sales director before transitioning into event management. Loughran most recently held the position of vice president of Clarion Events’ food and beverage division.

Previous armed forces veteran

Prior to his career in the events industry, Loughran completed the Army Ranger School and served as a captain in the United States Marine Corps. He has participated in humanitarian relief operations in Bangladesh such as Operation Sea Angel, Desert Shield, and Desert Storm.

“We are thrilled to have Tom as our new general manager,” said Dr Richard L. Oshrain, general chair. “He is a proven leader with the vision to expand on the success the GNYDM has built over the past 98 years and takes us into our next phase of growth and innovation.”
